Movie Review-They Will Kill You

When I first saw the preview for They Will Kill You, I immediately thought of a Quentin Tarantino or Sam Raimi film.

This is Kirill Sokolov's Hollywood debut and his third overall. Zazie Beetz is in her first role as a lead and she does a decent enough job of a woman on revenge, looking for her sister after she's been in jail for 10 years for trying to protect them against their abusive father. She tracks her younger sister down to a a high rise building in New York City (called "The Virgil") that is home to a group of a satanic cult! The film gets crazier and more preposterous as it goes on, but that is the point.

It's not a bad time killer, but for me, it's a one time watch and it's forgettable! I did get a kick out of watching Patricia Arquette! It seemed like she was having fun and I loved what she did with her character. To sum it up, if you love Tarantino & Raimi cinema, then you'll enjoy it more!
