2026 marks 30 years since the first "Scream" film hit theatres! It was not expected to be a hit, but seven films later, it's clear to see that the "Scream" franchise is one of the most popular pop culture phenomenon! You always see Ghostface costumes in stores around Halloween and they seem to sell just as well as other horror franchises! Who could forget the TV series and games that went along it!?
So for Scream 7, leading lady or "Final Girl" Sidney Prescott returns played by semi-franchise regular, Neve Campbell! Courtney Cox reprises her role and many familiar faces from previous Scream films cameo throughout this pure nostalgia cash grab! If you're a Scream fan, chances are you'll be easy to please (although I've heard many fans also gripe after they saw it!). I've never been a huge fan of the franchise. I thought the first one was OK and pretty much skipped out on the rest. I did kind of enjoy part six, but this just treads into too familiar territory and relies too much on nostalgia and nothing else. The plot twist is predictable as it's a trend that has become common with many films made in the past couple of years. I won't spoil it for you here, but if you want to listen to my deep dive into the film and the first Scream, then click on the link below!
